Summer Latchkey
Program Dates: May 28-July 31, 2026, 6AM-6PM (closed July 3)
Location: Swaney Elementary, 501 English
Rates: $120 per week per child plus a one time $35 registration fee per child.
Summer Latchkey Enrollment
To minimize disruptions to our regular school year Latchkey services, we have modified the Summer Program enrollment process.
- Complete the online Google Form HERE (opens at 6PM on Monday, March 9).
- Download and complete the Special Permissions document HERE. It is also linked in the Google Form.
- Return payment along with Special Permissions document to Swaney Latchkey ONLY on of the following days:
- 6-8PM Thursday, March 12
- 9AM-4PM Friday, March 13
School Year Latchkey
Before and After School Care
Latchkey provides Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) licensed childcare before and after school for K-5 students. Students are transported by bus between Latchkey sites and attendance centers. Latchkey opens at 6AM until school begins and after school until 6PM. Services are available at following sites:
- Derby Hills Elementary, 2230 N. Woodlawn Blvd., (316) 788-8532 (students who attend Derby Hills & El Paso)
- Stone Creek Elementary, 3012 N. Triple Creek Dr., (316) 440-5132 (students who attend Stone Creek)
- Swaney Elementary, 501 English St., (316) 788-8064 (students who attend Park Hill & Swaney)
- Tanglewood Elementary, 830 N. Ridgecrest Dr., (316) 337-5672 (students who attend Tanglewood)
- Wineteer Elementary, 8801 E. Ent Dr., Wichita, (316) 684-0097 (students who attend Cooper, Oaklawn & Wineteer)
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. The first two weeks of care are due at the time of enrollment along with a $10 registration fee per student. This initial payment must be made in person at your designated Latchkey office via credit or debit card, cash, check, or money order. In addition, any outstanding balances must be paid to complete enrollment.
School Year Enrollment Process
Please complete the following steps for Latchkey enrollment:
1. Submit the online Google enrollment form below. You will need to fill out one form per child.
2. Download and complete the Special Permissions Form. You will need one per child.
3. Return payment and Special Permissions Form to your designated Latchkey office Monday-Friday, 6AM-6PM.

Weekly fees are prorated ONLY for days when Latchkey care is not available. Latchkey reserves the right to refuse service to families whose accounts are delinquent.
Extended Care Days
Extended care is available for students currently enrolled in Latchkey on days school is not in session due to inservice/staff work days or parent teacher conferences. Full days are 6AM-6PM, $30/per day, per/student.
