Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

For a calm and focused start to the day, we kindly ask that parents only enter the building in the morning if they have a pre-arranged appointment with a teacher. No parents are permitted inside the building in the morning unless an appointment is made with the teacher. Car Riders (see below):

• Students riding in a car to school will be dropped off in the yellow lane, entering the building through the southwest set of doors. Staff members will be present to help students unload and enter the building.
• Students must be able to unbuckle and exit the vehicle independently in the car line. If your child needs assistance, please park on the street and walk them to the entrance.
• Our goal is to have multiple vehicles unloading at the same time, your child may exit the vehicle prior to you being the first car in line.
   

Bike Riders/Walkers: 

• Please encourage students on bikes to walk their bikes on school grounds. 
• Both bike riders and walkers will enter the building through the southwest set of doors.
• Students should use the sidewalks, crosswalks and watch for cars and other pedestrians. 

Note: There will not be supervision prior to school doors opening at 7:50AM (8:50AM on Mondays).

Bus Riders:

• Bus riders will be dropped off in the upper parking lot, in front of the no parking zone.
• They will proceed down the stairs and be let in the west/gym doors by a staff member.

Late to School: 

• If you know your child will be arriving late, please contact the office to let them know.    
  • At this time, please inform them of your child’s lunch choice to ensure they can receive the option they prefer.
  • If your child is late, arriving after 8:05AM (9:05AM on Mondays), please walk your student in and check in with the office.

Car Riders - Dismissal at 3:30PM (see image below):

Note: During dismissal, students must be able to buckle and enter the vehicle independently. If your child needs assistance, please park on the street and walk to meet them.

• Grades PreK-2nd grade pick-up will be on the right side (yellow lane). If your student has a 3rd-5th grade sibling, he/she will stand with their youngest sibling.
  • Your yellow car tag should be placed in your passenger side windshield for a staff member to read as you pull in.
    If you are in the yellow lane, you will have to turn right.
• Grades 3rd-5th pick-up (without PreK-2nd grade siblings) will be on the left side (red lane). 
• Your red car tag should be placed in your driver side windshield for a staff member to read as you pull in.
  • If you are in the red lane, you will have to turn left.
• Each car will be asked to pull up to a cone where a staff member will help load students.
   

Walkers/Bike Riders - Dismissal at 3:30PM:

• Any student walking home, walking to their parked car or that has a parent/guardian walking up to pick them up, will be considered a walker.
• Walkers/bikers should use the crosswalks. Parents/guardians, please model using the crosswalks for all of our students as well.

Bus Riders/Boys and Girls Club - Dismissal at 3:30PM:

• Bus Riders will wait in the gym hallway for their bus to arrive, staff members will supervise students and walk them out to their bus.
• Boys and Girls Club will go to the cafeteria where Boys and Girls Club staff are present.

Inclement Weather Dismissal

• All cars will use the Yellow Lane. The Red Lane will not be used.
• Student pick-up and walker dismissal will only occur from the door marked with the red circle. Parents walking up must also go to that door. (see map below)
• Lightning protocol: If there is lightning, students will not be allowed to walk home. Staff will remain indoors for safety, and dismissal may be delayed until conditions improve.
